Did you bypass the fuse for a reason?

You could wire it to include the fuse if you wanted, but the switch was used more for its function and looks more than protection. If your wiring your source through the switch say directly to your PC power supply the I wouldn't have by-passed the fuse. I figured the actual smart strip would give me all the protection I would need. In fact I was wiring last night I accidentally touched 2 wires together and it tripped the smart strip and shut the machine down, no issues. I just re-started and it was fine.
