joystick question

I just recently got 2 Capcom vs snk cabinets. Gonna keep one, sell the other.
One is a large arcade original cabinet, the other was a giveaway from Capcom with no coin door and it's smaller- like kid sized.

The large cvs cabinet has one controller that doesn't work properly.  It's a little difficult to do the moves.  Seems like it is not hitting the microswitches just right.  I was going to just take the ones out of my smaller cab and switch them.  But the joysticks are different underneath. I see that the one in the real cab has a round end to push against metal tabs which push the microswitches, while the smaller cab has a square end that pushes directly against the microswitches.  Is one stick generally thought of as better?  Should I keep the original stick and get new microswitches? Or am I just better off putting in the working stick from the smaller cab?

sounds like the one on the larger cab is a happ's super, the one on the smaller cab is a happ's competition.

i have a pair of supers that came on my tekken cab.. i did'nt care for them found motion moves to be hard to get out.

you can get replacement supers, or i think the competitions have the same mounting, but not sure.

you could get new micro switches IF thats the problem.. or the blades might need tweaked a bit.

supers and compositions are both pretty popular for general game play so you'ed probably get half the people liking one and the other half liking the other a little more.

price wise both sticks can be had for under 10 bucks from GGG

Beretta pretty much hit this one right on the nose.

from what i understand, most people seem to prefer the competition sticks (square actuators), the best way to tell though is to play them.  i'm assuming that both of these cabs are funcitonal?  try playing a few rounds with each type and see which you like better.

Groovy Game Gear has both, but the competitions are available in multiple colors, while the super is only in black.   these are both very common sticks and there are lots of places that carry them...i just know that i have ordered from GGG and have been very pleased with their service

yeah, I definitely like the competition better. Do real Capcom cabinets vary in what is in them?  I kinda want to use what is standard so I can be good at real arcades.
