things to do.
sell the extra game boards to recouperate some money.
clean it good.
remove the crappy artwork off the glass and marquee.
replace the cash box door.prob is it is laminated board, but,i sort it.
replace the arcabe cab stand, what it sits on,as its pretty beat.
clean and respray the cash door.
replace the tmolding.
get better artwork on there.
sort better controls for the cp,2 quality sticks with 6 buttons each.
other than that its a jamma cab, there is a thin black band on the right side of the minitor if anyone knows whats causing it,its an hantarex monitor i am all ears.
its in pretty good shape,i think its fair to say its old and been around,i think it is not a custom made cab.if you have a clue what cab it is so i am all ears once again.
i got a mame on the go already so this one will be slow,i hope to update my thread for the mame cab sometime this week coming.
this cab was £220 off ebay, buy now and get a heap of boards with it,double dragon is in there with some others.
its a good one though.
:)
LeedsFan:
Looks like a nice clean cab. I've seen these before and the only drawback is that the CP looks a little small.
Cabs in the UK are much pricier than in the US. In the States it's like "Oh yeah... I have a Pacman and three DKs I want rid of... take the lot for 300 bucks". :P OK I know it's not that good over there but there is a big disparity.
saleem:
yes,the cp is little small but, still i will sort something out 2 player 6 buttons each.
yes,i completely understand you like a lot of other brits will about price.an american will go "yikes, you payed like 350 bucks for a jamma cab" yeparoony!
was tinkering and i think my black band prob is the jamma copnnector but,i am wandering if its a setting as 1 board has actualy played in full screen.might be board related.
to throw into the bargain i was just rooting round in it,i found £1,yep,1 whole pound so just £219 to go and i got my dosh back.i found tetris board screwed under the board the monitors chassis is on and it works, although i got a black line on the right hand side of the monitor.
i cant seem to find anything that moves the picture from left to right.

jobs done so far:
removed the artwork from sides and marquee.
i cleaned the glass, there are a few spots where there is some glue left from the artwork that was there but,its pretty clean.
cleaned the cab,i find they have this weird smell, smoke, aftershave, beer! so i gave it the general once over and removed a lot of that horrible smell and paint splashs etc.it could still do with more cleaning.
thanks to someone in the monitor topic forum i got the horizontal sorted on the monitor (no more black band) i have switched the monitor to the vertical position.
i removed the cp,i got the buttons off and the ugly joysticks, will stick some ultimarc ones in i got already.i cleaned the cp,as i was removing the paint spray i noticed there was a rubbery vinyl there so i tried to save it,was a lot of hassle but,i removed it and then realised as i was cleaning it that it got stretch marks on it.
i cleaned the cp with brass brushs and a drill, just a bit more to go but,i might just source out some covering and put it on as the cp is now.
here it is:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i removed the bottom of the cab,it is made of mdf and was well beat up,all feathered up and splitting.
i got planed wood.
here is where i am at now:
i am going to drill holes in the places i think i need to to strengthen it up,i will use dowelling and glue.
the wood on the left and right is bolted to the cab (thats the way it is) i actualy constructed this on the cab not away from it in case i got the measurements wrong,if i had when it came to bolting it on i would have had big probs.its all wood glued at the mo.when i have put dowelling in the places to strengthen it i will unbolt it and remove it and a few more dowelling rods in a couple more places that are not accessable while its fitted and then i will fit two wheels so i can cart it round.
i will slope the back edges of the side wood for when i tilt the cab back so the wheels are free to make contact with the ground.
it will be sprayed black.
QUESTION?
any suggestions for where to get a good vinyly material for the cp?i need something thick and if i have to buy glue to stick it on i aint partial if its not sticky back.something substantial like 1mm,i am having trouble sourcing out some cp covering,i dont want to spray it.
i would prefer a rubbery covering.

Nice work so far!
I really don't know about vinyl covering. Difficult to find here in the UK. Happs sell it in rolls and you can order it here in the UK, but they want a £50 minimum order. :hissy:
On my project I used plain black adhesive floor tiles from B&Q. Of course the problem is the size. They are 305mm square (if I remember correctly) which of course isn't enough to go right across your panel. Would mean you having a "join" down the middle. But they are bendy, 2mm thick and very sticky. And they are only three quid a pack. :P
