Closest monitor repair shop
« on: August 27, 2009, 11:28:45 pm »
I have a wells gardner monitor, the colours seem washed out.  I have made every adjustment possible, and still no luck.  I think it is a safe assumption, that the caps are original.  The monitor is from a Nintendo Super System machine.  Also, I can't seem to get the vertical sync to stick.  I can get it set good in mame, but when I reboot the machine, it needs to be reset.  Any how, I am looking for the closest place, or have someone come to my house to fix it.  Anybody know of the closest repair place, or person that is near Brantford Ontario??  Thanks in advanced

I found a place in cambridge.  Niemans Video Supply.  I explained to them my issues, and he thinks it may be the tube.  Anyone agree on this.  They also said that doing a cap kit is just a bandaid fix, and will only give the monitor another year of use.  Any one have comments on this??\

I'd claim "bologna" on recapping only giving a monitor only a year of use, but any chassis I cap automatically gets a ton of solder rework in addition to the caps.
