Joust restoration

IronBuddha:
A while ago I bought a Joust cab completely gutted, and horribly turned into a poker game. It was cheap ($20) and I decided to turn it into a MAME cabinet since I lack wood working skills. Well ever since I bought this cab, a little voice in my head has been telling me to make it a dedicated Joust game once again. So now I've decided to play my mame games on my home cpu and will be bringing this game back to life the best that I can.

Like I said it was completely gutted, the control panel was cut right in half and the poker controls were built right over it. And the sideart is gone as well. The only thing that I was able to save was the marquee, it was painted over so I was able to bring it back with WD-40 ;)

I'm need of a little help since this is the first time I've ever done this.

I'm planning on buying the CPO and bezel from mamemarquees. But for the cabinet I wanted to know what's the best way to go. What kind of paint should I use, does anyone know the actual color of the original cabinet? Also does anyone know any details of the side art? I only see one side for sale is it only one side that has the art?

As for the electronics, me and my girlfriend have the knowledge and she has the soldering skills, but is there any pics I can use showing me how the board connects to the controls, monitor etc.

This is something that won't be done right away, it will take me some time to get everything together and ready to go but I decided to start my thread now and show my progress if ppl are interested. Great thanks for any help I can get!

Here's some pics

This is how I bought it, notice even the coin door was cut for a bill validator.

And here's the marquee after I saved it

Thanks guys for the heads up! Spriggy those links will come in handy, the one with the color codes was exactly what I'm looking for.
