Using Mouse as a Spinner
« on: June 13, 2009, 02:39:45 pm »
Can someone point me in the direction on a FAQ on how to get MAME(WolfMAME 106) to find a PS2 mouse.(For use as a spinner).

The arrow keys on my keyboard work with Arkanoid, but not the mouse. ?!?

Thanks.

In the mame.ini you need to set Mouse 0 to Mouse 1

Look in the Mame root folder itself.  It's not a file in the ini folder.

Can you tell me how to get to the "Mame root folder"?

Thanks.

Ok, It's in the ini folder, or it's not in the ini folder. I don't know what the MAME.exe folder has to do with this, and no one knows how to get to the MAME root folder...

in MAME32UI, go to OPTIONS, DEFAULT GAME OPTIONS, CONTROLLERS, and check the ENABLE MOUSE INPUT box.

in MAME32UI, go to OPTIONS, DEFAULT GAME OPTIONS, CONTROLLERS, and check the ENABLE MOUSE INPUT box.

The first pic my MAME 106 folder.

The second pic show what I have when I open the "ini" folder.

The third pic is the opened mame32ui notepad.

There is nothing that says "options" on any of the five drop down menus there.

Thanks.

You don't have filename extensions turned on. In the first photo, the one that says MAME and then "configuration settings" is the MAME.INI.

What I was saying in my last post was WHILE RUNNING MAME32UI, go to the options I listed.

Also:
The root folder is the first folder. The root of the C drive would be C:\ and assuming MAME is where it usually goes, the root of MAME would be C:\MAME (in your case, MAME 106)

Thanks. That worked.

Now I can use either the PS2 mouse, keyboard arrows, or USB joystick to control the paddle in Arkanoid.

This will probably be temporary because I'm looking for a set-up that will only use a single USB port for spinner and buttons.

Thanks again.
