Cost of a light gun set-up?

I was wondering how much it would cost to have two light guns fully working?

and if it's worth putting into a cabinet

DJ_Izumi:
That would depend on what guns you buy, what display you're running and how you're feeding the signal to that display.

wooowman93:
Ok, lets say it a TV(tube) with s-video and im not to sure what guns there are :dunno

DJ_Izumi:
If you're using S-Video, the Guncon2 is probably your cheapest bet and there are drivers for'em.  IN that situation, you'd meerly need to split the S-video into a composite adaptor and let that go into the Guncon's video jacks.  Guncons go for $10-$20 used.

Be wary here. You'd want a nice bright CRT monitor. I tried this with an arcade monitor and it never worked well. There are two posters here that have made it work with TV's using the TV's own TV out. There are no documented success stories with arcade monitors that I can find.

I tried everything. The best I ever got was mediocre tracking and only on games with light backgrounds. I'm using topguns now which I think is the best on the market currently but by no means perfect. Others have had luck with ACT light guns but there are some who have not.
