Newbies First Mame Machine build!
SnApRoLl:
I got my X-Arcade control interface kit today and pretty much everything else I need to get it built and playable. I will be at home on vacation all next week so I will have some build time and will start getting pictures posted as well.

I started working on the control panel last night and was using a jig saw on some scrap wood and found that it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to make a straight cut even with a rip guide attachment. :hissy: So, I went to Lowes and got (Insert the Tool Man grunt here) a new table saw and boy what a difference!!! :woot
I don't know how I ever lived without one. Anyway I made the mount for my rack mount computer case and I built a keyboard drawer and installed it and I got the control panel frame done as well. I cut out the control panel board and have it sitting on the frame work but still have some finish work to do on it before I start installing the controls. I will post pictures tomorrow of what I have done so far.

Here are some pictures of my progress as promised. In case your wondering about the trigger stick, It's an aftermarket 8 way for what looks to be a Nintendo that was given to me a while back. It uses micro switches and I am going to see if I can adapt it to my control panel to use for Tron. The only bummer is, it is an 8way and I will have to figure out a way to limit it to 4 way. If worse comes to worse I could use it for 8way games, so I don't have to mod my main joysticks every time I need an 8way. Remember, this is my first attempt at building a m.a.m.e.
machine and am really trying to be as original as possible with the control panel and frame assy. So far it's turning out pretty good and I still have quite a bit left to do. Let me know what you guys think so far.
Thanks,:)

Hello all,
I have my M.A.M.E. Machine playable for now but it still needs trim and finish work and a few other other odds and ends.
I haven't posted pics in a while because I've been sick since before X-mas. I will post more pics when I'm better.

Hello all,
I know its been a while since I have posted, But I got hit by the economy / layoff B.S. :soapbox: and had to move my family up north back in April.
And unfortunately, there was no room for my MAME cabinet, so I had to strip everything down and start over. :banghead:
BUT!!! The good news is, I was able to score an old Pit Fighter cabinet with a fully functional 2 player control panel!! :D that is much smaller and more manageable than the Sega WS99 cabinet. And I also scored 2 Sega Cool Riders motorcycle yokes and I interfaced one to an old Logitech Wingman jostick and found that it works great for driving games that require analog controls as well as Paperboy.
I will be listing the other yoke for sale here soon.
I will try and keep everything updated as much as I can from here on out.
