I've been working on my cabinet made with 3/4" MDF and I'm using Rustoleum Hammer finish paint on it. I've been using a 6 " sponge roller. I've put three coats on the sides but I can't get rid of roller marks. Is there any tricks or words of wisdom to get rid of them?

Hoagie_one:

two ideas.
1)  make sure you give it a light sanding between coats.  Each time with a finer grit.

2) dont roll in straight lines.  Go across, then down then side, then across then get the spots you missed.  Hard to explain but i saw it on trading spaces, lol

You also need a high quality roller.  Not sure if your sponge roller is "high enough" quality.  I can't tell the difference between medium and high quality; I ask the hardware clerk to show me the which ones are the best.  *shrug*  Maybe someone here can me (us) on this?

I used what they said were high quality rollers. Am I using to much pressure when painting possibly?

Sprucemoose:

Its possible.  A little paint goes a long way.  After you are done with a side look at the glare and see if you see any roller marks, if roll them out like Hoagie suggested.
