JPS Plugin Tools
« on: March 08, 2008, 07:46:30 pm »
Hi guys. Had to dump the David_AVD user name as it didn't play nicely with the wiki.
I'm working on improving the host tool & event logger now.
Are there any suggestions for useful features on either?

I'm updating my JPS event logger. The features so far are:
  • Turn the date/time stamp on or off
  • Turn off logging of the focus / minimise / restore events
  • Show or hide line numbers in the log window
  • Clear the log window
  • Save the log window text to a file
  • Save the log window text to the Windows clipboard
  • Select where to save the log file
  • Preferences saved to an ini file in the same directory as the logger

What else would be useful?

Yes, similar. Loadman made a basic (quick 'n' dirty as he calls it) one first.
I'm looking to gain some experience in writing DLL's so thought I expand on his idea.
I hope doing so hasn't offended anyone. It wasn't my intention.  :-[
I do get a bit carried away sometimes when I'm on a roll !

;)  All we need now is a real plug-in I guess

So, what is wanted or needed? Don't tell me we have a standard, some development tools, but no ideas for the actual product! [SLAPS HEAD]

edit: Ooh, ooh. (picture me with hand up)

What about a plugin that spits out a serial strings to control other equipment? (projector, screen, whatever)

How about a network interface to remotely control the jukebox? Would you even want to?

Loadman, are you doing a LEDWIZ plugin? That's probably the most useful one I can think of.

I'll probably do a Led plug-in.  It would be nice to have some 'flash to the muzac' code to use  ::)

Cool

Nice

Only one Question, How do you close the Logger config window?  Or is that deliberate?

Press the hide button. (the one with the hands covering the page)
Hover the mouse over each button for the hints.

Arzoo was kind enough to provide a dll to alow me to easily play lwax and lwa animation files on a led-wiz or pac drive.  I think I can whip up a plug-in to play random animation when the jukebox is not playing music.

Randy T's animtion (flash to the muzac) prog would be great to use when music is playing. If only I could think of a way to use that too somehow?
