I just picked up Golden Tee PC, and I am using my 8ball/trackball hack. I get backspin so I can't play golden tee like the arcade, but I can play it. I am really tempted by the 3" TB sale at Happs, but if I were to upgrade is really worth it for Golden Tee PC? Does Golden Tee PC really play as well as in the arcade? Obviously the feel would be much better than what I have now, but is it comparable to the arcade feel (hard spinning drives and smooth rolling puts) When most of you guys are talking about Golden Tee, I am assuming PC version. I know there are some old school roms in mame, but not as nice to look at as the PC version. What version are you guys playing? I have also seen some projects that have Tiger Woods on their cabs...how does that play with a trackball. Or in order to get my golden tee fix at home should I begin another project to build a dedicated golden tee from a PCB? Thanks NY |

Hmm... that's odd... is it an arcade 2 1/4" trackball with the 8ball? or a regular PC mouse? Doesn't PC Goldent Tee let you set the swing rate when you first fire it up (i.e. the 5 "practice" swings and the number it assigns for sensitivity?) *shrug* rampy |

I've got a Happs 3" trackball and play Golden Tee PC all the time. It doesn't play exactly like the arcade, but it is a reasonable facsimile. |

I think I went with the pc trackball just because it looked easier to install. I've got some good info from you guys so I think it might be time to upgrade. anybody playing other games? or successfully made a cabinet with a GT PCB? thanks ny |

FWIW in this thread I provide boffo links to the myriad of trackball deals out there (i recommend getting the mounting plate btw for ease of mounting) You could probably buy the wico (or happs) 2 1/4" trackball and keep your 8ball asthetic... *shrug* or go for the 3" golden tee style. rampy |
