force feedback on light gun ?

Heh, way more than i wanted to spend, but good to know they exist. I was hoping for just the solenoid kit.

The recoil on the LCD Topgun does not require an external AC adapter.... It runs off the USB Power. Subject to it being the only device that you're powering from the USB Bus. Mine works fine in that mode. Some motherboards do have problems with it though.

There is an option to add external power for the recoil and there is a socket on the bottom of the gun to do that. The other option for it is to add a powered USB hub and run it from that. many people have had sucess running them that way.

maybe I seen that the extra power adapter was needed for a 2 player setup?

Nope, it's actual arcade.. but the same theory applies. I like the idea of the xbox controller tho, definitely someplace to start, thanks!

The nice thing with the happs arcade recoil kit (and the PC LCD gun) is that they recoil only when shot while pointing at the screen.  Hacking in to recoil every time the trigger is pulled is easy and cheaper, but recoil when offscreen reload feels weird.  My two cents.

i have 2 guncon2s that both have recoil, one even has a laser sight on it... i love the kickback when playing house of the dead, but after 10 min or so you hands start going numb!

anyways that is another option if you know your way around a computer and don't mind a TON of tweaking to get a "half decent" solution. my guns are a bit jittery and work fairly well except in the blackest of areas on the screen!
