force feedback on light gun ?

Anyone ever thought about how to had force feedback to an existing light gun ? Was just at a bowling alley playing Time Crisis and House of the Dead and some others, and the games with FF in the guns were way more fun. I have Police Trainer, and I'd love to open up the guns and add 'something' to do some feedback.

LCD topgun is the only pc gun that has the recoil and the only LG gun I know of that the hammer slide's back and forth like a real one would but that effect needs a A/C power adapter.

it also looks good and feels good but the flaw is it only works from 4-6 feet away from the screen.

if they figure out how to make them work at close range like a act-labs gun more then likely they would crush all other competetors.

Depending on how much you want to spend, there are solutions out there. You can either piece something together yourself, or you can use the Happs kit:

I've not used either method, so I can't comment on them.

Hey does this saturn gun work on the pc or did you just stick the act labs guts in it or something.

if it works on a pc I would like to try one out myself  :applaud:

The recoil on the LCD Topgun does not require an external AC adapter.... It runs off the USB Power. Subject to it being the only device that you're powering from the USB Bus. Mine works fine in that mode. Some motherboards do have problems with it though.

There is an option to add external power for the recoil and there is a socket on the bottom of the gun to do that. The other option for it is to add a powered USB hub and run it from that. many people have had sucess running them that way.

As for the distance from screen problem. This is mostly due to the camera lens in the gun. I am still working on a lens adapter solution for this.
