ultramarc 360 plugin for MALA

Greetings everyone!
My project is just about finished, but I ran into a snag. I downloaded the ultramarc 360 plug in for MALA but now I don't know how to set it up properly so that I can use the controls for the joystick to exit games. Currently I have to use the keyboard to exit a game. I have all of my buttons run through the joystick harness so I need the plug in to work so that MALA will recognize them for things. The buttons do work well in the games though. Any ideas on how to set the plug in up correctly? I read the read me fil;e but was completely confused by it. Thanks for the help.

It sounds like you'll have to re-map MAME inputs for exit (by default it is ESC, I believe).  You'll have to change this in the MAME general input options and make it be some magical combination of keypresses you'll never hit during the game.

I tried that but MAME does not recognize the buttons on my joystick because the plugin is not setup right so I can not remap it yet.

The plugin is not active while MAME is running -- only while MaLa is in control, so it's not the plugin's fault.

The issue you are having is with MAME and your U360s, not the MaLa plugin and your U360s.  If your buttons work fine in-game with MAME then there is no reason that they shouldn't work fine in the remapping controls portion of MAME.

I think im having the same / similar issues for weeks.. ive noticed it on these select games thus far "bubble bobble, mario bros,..." don't seem to work with my Player 1 U360.. In game the player 2 joy works and the buttons both work for player 1, and 2.. but i can jump/ blow bubbles and mario i can just jump, but i cant move player 1.. and I can't even load into the game using MaLa Fatfingers pluggin, U360s from ultimarc.. the weird thing is that id say 98% of my other games seem to work.. ive tried hitting TAB within mame, and the reassigning the joy stick that way.. but no response. I'm very stuck and don't know what to do.
