I wonder if there should be a layouts subforum where people can post their layouts? I plan on modifying the game launcher layout to include control panel pics and an instruction card on how to use Mala with my cp.

Heres a little example of my mala lays. I have 44 of them all made by me.

They have clean look to them. You can get all 44. They are in 1280 x 800 LCD or 1600 x 1200 pc CTR 20" and above(These can be had for nothing thoug they costed an arm only 5-8 years ago) so its not for low res screens.

here is my mala layout i made for my Donkey Kong Mame cab. it is set up for a vertical monitor, at a fixed resolution of 640x480. i've included 2 font files that need installed. I am using the marquees provided by John's Arcade layout. i didn't include them here.

Since this seems to be the giant stickied MaLa layout thread, I figured I'd post my recently finished layouts here for everyone to download.

It's a set of all the layouts inside the sample picture above in a single zip file. It even includes the source photoshop files with various extra artwork so you can easily tweak them how you like them without much photoshop knowledge. The readme inside the zip contains all the details.

Thanks again to Severdhed for sending me his PSD file and taking the time to answer all my questions.
He was an awesome help to me, so again I thank you.
This is my first crack at a MALA layout, I did it to 800x600.
I have to know configure everything, but this is the background I might use.
I built it right over what Severdhed sent me, IE the similarity.
I'll see what else I can come up with.
Should anyone be interested once I have it configured and working I can post all files.

Two more, these are inspired (and built over) the skin found on John's Arcade site.
I always loved that layout, its why I wanted to try Mala.
I thought something DK JR would be ideal as that is the cabinet its going in.
I'm still looking for the DONKEY KONG font, and the lil bird from Donkey Kong jr side art.
My illustrator isnt working ,so I have no means of removing it from the side art image.
If anyone has that lil bird or even Donkey Kong himself (all be it part of his body is missing) and could send to me that would be awesome.
Anyway here are the images.
Now to make em work in Mala.

i like the first one you posted the best, but then again that makes sense, since it is pretty similar to mine.

. those others look pretty good too. you shouldn't have any problem getting mala setup.

So today I "TRY" and make my layouts work.
Is it better I try to edit a skin that I like created by someone, simply adding/removing items til I get what I like ?
Or is it better to try from scratch ?

None the less here is something I did quicly for a buddy who I think is going to use Mala.

I still do custom layouts and have never had a disappointed customer.

Tons of 404 errors in this thread (not surprising since it's 5 years old). Any good repositories of modern layouts (esp in the 640x288 res)? Even the ones on malafe.net are looking pretty dated.
