J-Stick questions.
Brax:
Does it take any tools to switch the actuation from 4-way to 8-way?
How easy is it? Would it only take a second?
My control panel is attached by velcro and I would like to use these sticks if it's quick and easy to change the actuation. It would save me the space of a dedicated 4-way stick.

there is a post on here somewhere, and someone replaced the standard screws with something else so you can un/tighten them by hand...
...don't know why though...i've got 2 j-sticks and have found that the restrictor plates can be turned by hand easily enough, and they won't budge once in either 4 or 8 way mode...
i think if you have a slippage problem (oooh er!), or the screws are too tight, just slacken/tighten them a bit and you'll be fine
(man, i ramble on too much! probably shoulda just put 'yes, you can switch them by hand no problem')

I have J-sticks... and they slip if I don't tighten it enough...
that means.... when I put the j_stick in 8 way and start playing street fighter... after like 20 minutes of playing... the restrictor plate will start to retate a little by itself... (enough to affect my diagonals...)
so, I have to tighten it.... appearently... finger tighten it is not enough for my case... need to be screwdriver tightened... (but not too much....)
(but plz keep in mind I'm an intense player when it comes to video games.. hee hee...)
someone else on the board switched the screws with
those finger tighten-able screws (with big slap heads... I think you know what I mean....) then you can finger tighten without screw drivers...
but even with screwdriver.... it doesn't take too long....
well... that's my personal experience.... others may differ...

Hmmm, so maybe a T-stick is a better choice for my application.......

mine are hand tight and they lock in w/out need to screw it down.
