I recently added a bunch of these to my cp - here are my observations on the installation;

The GGG switches have a smaller body than a standard micro and they don't fit as tight on the button mounts. I don't see them breaking loose, but there can be some movement in the mount when you press the button.

You can't install them quite the same way as a standard micro (like a cherry). With a standard switch, I place the switch in a vertical position on the lower mount pin and then rotate the switch down until the upper mount pin snaps into place. With the GGG switches, the metal leaf snags on the plunger leg when you try to use this method. But because the switch has a smaller body, you can angle (twist) it into place.

One last note, the GGG switches have spade connections that are even smaller than .187.

Overall I'm impressed (as always) with the quality of the GGG product.

I typed the name wrong earlier so I have just corrected that...probably why I didn't find much when searching (it was quite early!).  I see the name sparked some heated discussion! 

I gather they are quiet but I am mainly wondering how they compare to either micro's or leaf switches 'feel' wise? Couldn't see much educated discussion of this...

Well I saw a lot of questions of how things played but not so many answers on it...just curious really!

Did you check the BobA review thread?  There is some feedback in there about the responsiveness and leaf-like feel.  Sound like it is much better than microswitches in terms of response and quietness, but still not quite as good as a real leaf.

Awesome.  Next to a leaf you can hear they are a tiny bit louder, but by themselves most folks probably couldn't tell they are not 'leafs.'

I will be doing a formal review in the near future.

Although the supplier is different I'm confident that these are the exact same product. Being in the UK I just ordered from Germany rather than the States.

Those make more sense than the "Micro-Leaf" (which is not a leaf switch at all) if you're looking for the feel and sound of leaf switches, given that they are in fact...leaf switches. They are also cheaper ($2.15 vs. $2.75). Plus the reviewer on Retroblast liked them better than any other leaf switch/button combination he's tried.

Additionally, they fit tightly into the switch-mounting posts of the pushbuttons according to the Retroblast review:

The leaf-switch brackets snap right into place on the normally micro-switch outfitted pushbuttons. It took me a few tries to figure out which end was up, but it is not very difficult and once installed they provide a tight fit.

I also think that it's only a small minority that swear by the leaf switches. I am one of those myself. I'm old enough to remember the original leaf switches before micro switches took over in the early to mid 80s. It's just the "original feel" that I want. And when set up correctly I'm convinced that certain games play better than with micro switches. (Track and Field anyone? But then again... what type switches did those cabs use?)

Many other arcade classic players may only remember the micro switches anyway. And there's nothing wrong with that at all..... I'm not here to preach that leafs are better and everyone should use them. They are for me but that's my personal choice.

I suppose it's like Betamax versus VHS back in the day. 

FWIW the pinball buttons I'm gonna put in the sides of my control panel will use micro switches. Simply because for a pinball machine you always get the feeling or feedback of a  "kick" when using the flippers. Yeah so the micro switch isn't exactly like that but it does give a feel back to you. A leaf switch there would be inappropriate in I think.
