Control panel without altering the original cabinet

I'm working on a cabinet that has a CP that won't alter the original cabinet.  What does everyone think?

paigeoliver:

I guess that would depend on the cabinet that the panel is going on. Altered control panels (ones that are too big for the cabinet they are on), stick out like a sore thumb to me, but that is because I collect classic games in addition to mame cabinets.

Other people probably wouldn't notice.

Ah.  It's going on a Moon Patrol.

paigeoliver:

How much of it is still a Moon Patrol? Does it still have the sideart? Marquee? Bezel? Control panel?

Still have the control panel, but had to replace the top, as it was completely swiss cheesed.  It had been thru a number of conversions.

No marquee.  The game was a poker game when I got it, but with no boards.  The marquee in it was a game called 'D J Boy'

The bezel was painted over.

The sideart was also painted over, and I found it underneath.  However, I've stripped it down to the wood.  If needs be, it can be easily restripped and repainted, as Moon Patrol used stencils, not adhesive, to place side art.
