turbo outrun upright (restoration worth it) ?
« on: September 10, 2008, 02:42:24 pm »
ive got a turbo outrun cab, its a bit worse for ware.

its in working condition with a little monitor screenburn and the wheel is missing the badge.

the metals on it are a bit rusty and the peddels are showing signs of rust to.

ive tryed to take the security bolts out but with constant use there is no heads left to unscrew.

the cab is like the one in the picture.

it has no sideart, unknown if it had any, it has marquee, and working gameboard and mech.

the 20"wg monitors works ok to as the sound and controls.

the wheel is a bit bent .

i will post pictures of it when i get them, but is it worth restoring?

if i sell it would i get much for it? restored or not?

the restoration i can afford is.

1) rub down metals and repaint.
2)clean the cp and rub down screws and paint (unless i can sorce new screws)
3) straighten wheel (not badly bent)
4) wash the  cab and screen.
5)hoover inside.

You'd be lucky to get $300 among "collectors". Maybe more if you advertise it to the general public and someone who used to be particularly fond of it sees the ad.
NO MORE!!
