MRH,
Right now I am using sldmame with a fixed res HD plasma as part of a mythtv/wahcade/sdlmame system. Everything is run at a 720p resolution.
I am working on a full upright cabinet that will use a WG D9200 monitor in it (already bought). Hence my work on the GPWIZ support previously (needed to know if they would work before finalizing my CP design). When I get it all together it will be a strictly wahcade/sdlmame setup.

Arbee:
I've heard of success with custom modelines from several people, so it should work, although given the, uhh, glorious variety of video support on Linux I can't really guarantee any specific configuration :)
Kudos to Saint for the Linux forum, I'll try to keep an eye on it.
PS: For folks on regular monitors, note that the latest ATI drivers for Linux reportedly fix all performance trouble with SDLMAME in OpenGL mode, so check that out if you're so equipped.

ooh, a guru in our midst! :notworthy: Thanks Arbee for your great emulation website!
I am VERY interested in investigating this option so that:
1) I can use a cooler frontend than advancemenu
2) I can launch other emulators that require X
personally I use a Billabs penta-res arcade monitor but it would be cool to see a HOWTO (and I'm not opposed to making one) for getting SDLMAME working for any arcade montior.
