another button layout question
« on: September 09, 2007, 10:43:10 pm »
So I really like this button layout, but it lacks some measurements. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

Button holes are 1 1/8", as should be the hole for the joystick... what measurements specifically are you after?

Take a look at this page: http://www.kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/Projekt.htm
No English there and numbers are in mm but it should be easy to convert. It also explains why your joystick is too high in relation to push buttons. If you can't figure out why, I'll translate that portion.

Wow that website looks interesting, what language is that in?

This is from my CP thread.

The design is not original, it's based on a template posted in the forum a while back; I simply spaced the buttons a bit further apart.

Horizontal and vertical dimensions below...

[Edit - sorry for the double image upload, can't figure out how that happened...]

thanks alot. I like the layout alot. The only thing I'm going to do is maybe center the joystick in between the two rows of buttons. The original layout doesn't look like it would be comfortable.

I agree - that's one of the things I'm thinking about as well. I've converted the "Projekt panelu kontrolnego" button cluster to US inches and might use that as a template for mine; see attached image.
