Marvel Vs. Capcom Problems.
« on: August 25, 2007, 03:56:22 am »
Player 1 works fine, player 2 doesn't.  Everything but button 5 and 6 work.  I have an Ipac and when i run the test it shows that the buttons are working fine.  Unless I'm missing a specific way to set the controller for player 2?  Someone PLEASE let me know.  I just wanna play fighting games without any problems..

Set button's 5 & 6 in mame's menu. (TAB button & go to INPUT general & PLAYER 2 CONTROLS)

Hod on now.   Are we talking MAME or the Dreamcast/Playstation 2?

Because if it is the latter, I went through a few problems lately.

He's probably talking MAME since he mentioned an IPAC.

Not necessarily because IPAC has a game console adapter.

But I did misread it, and thought it said Marvel Vs Capcom 2.    Me read what I wanted to see....my bad.

F-Zero is definitely right.  Here is the question from the FAQ on Andy's site:

Problem: Player 2 buttons 5 and 6 not working.
This is not an I-PAC problem! By default, MAME does not have these buttons assigned to any keycodes. Just go into the MAME controls menu (press tab in a game) and assign them. Button 5 is "I" and Button 6 is "K".

I never have understood why this is the default since many games use 6 botton configs.    weird.

...but most people don't do two player games with 6 buttons on a keyboard.
