mamewah and snaps
« on: August 15, 2007, 09:08:38 pm »
My screen shots are not showing up on mamewah.  Can anyone help, I'm at a loss over this and yes my paintx.dll is registered and I have the correct path in the mame.ini.

I forgot to add I am using mame .117, mamewah 1.62b13 and tinyXP beast edition, plus the snaps work in mame32 and do not work in mala.

PLEASE HELP ME....this thing is driving me nuts!!!!

ok I have set the snap folder in mame(the dos command), I have looked over the mame.ini file 100 times and looked on the Wiki and I am still getting no snaps to show up.  Has anyone else had this problem???  I'm just looking for some direction on what to do. Thanks.

I have noticed that my snaps are put into folders in the snaps folder. You basically need to take them out of their folder and have just .png files named the same as the rom they are for.
Ex- in my snaps folder I have the actual picture for SF2 championship edition named "sf2ce.png"

I hope that helps

yes Boris, this worked for me.  I am glad to have my snaps working.  Thanks.  But... do you know any other way of doing this, as I will spend more time renaming files and moving them then I will playing the games.  This seems a little extreme and a major design flaw.  Just wondering if you can force mame or mamewah to this on its own.

I was thinking the same thing when I realized this too. How many games do you have? I only have about 30, so It didn't take me that long.

I have the full set of .117 so something like 6637 games so it would take me a long long time.  There has to be a way to change it.  Maybe by editing the source code of MAME.

Have you considered downloading a new set of snaps?  They are all over the web.
