Number of games
« on: August 21, 2007, 07:43:10 pm »
Hi Guys,

just me playing around :)
In fact, haven`t done anything since i got it to work, just playing those cool games i remember from my youth :D

One thing i can`t seem to get to work..

My game list is over 10000 roms, but only 5232 shows up in the list?!
I uses Mala frontend.

Does this frontend have any restrictions on how many games you can have ?

And another thing, you can go up and down on the list, but is it possible to get page down/up ( a little faster to go up and down in the list).

Thank you all again for your help, much apricated.

Cheers.

The latest version of Mame has only 6728 rom sets which include bios sets.  If you have an older version of Mame then 5232 may be correct.  Only way you have 10000 valid roms is if you are talking about other emulators in addition to Mame.

In Mala's Mame gamelist, Mala is only going to count roms that are listed in your version of Mame's mame.xml file.

I think you have to hold button-1 down while joysticking up/down to page through the games lists.

I kinda like the way Mamewah does it better (uses both joysticks).

Actually you can assign page up and page down to anything on your control panel.  You can also add letter up and letter down.  I used the buttons for page up and down on mine.

If you want you can set the joysticks to separately go up a game at a time and the other joystick to page at a time.  Even could have left and right handle pages.  Whatever you want.

On the picture below, X up and X down is the page up and down.

Well, he ain't no prize, and there's no women his size,
And that's why the cat's so mean"

Whatever you want.

Funny that I didn't think to reconfigure it to act like Mamewah. I guess I figured the defaults were like that for a purpose. Thanks for the nudge. I'll do that now.

FWIW, I love the ease of depth of Mala's configurability. Every time I think of something I want it to do (or not do), I go looking and sure enough, there's a way to easily change it.
