4 player control panel (mame) project question.
« on: July 16, 2007, 12:49:32 am »
I am going to be using the SlikStik Quad Arcade Control Panel and am wondering if the I-PAC4 Board found at http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html is going to do the trick. Will I need the Opti-PAC as well?

The iPac board will be sufficient if the only controls you intend to add are digital inputs. That being up to 4 joysticks with 6 buttons, a credit and a start button for each. There may be a couple more for mouse inputs (analog 2-axis without a seperate power supply needed) and a few 'function' buttons (Esc,TAB etc..) but if you are going for trackballs and the like, you may need more.

If you do run out of connections, just pick up a trackball with independant power supply and a USB cable for connection. This should save you some hassle and be very easy to connect.

Hope that helps....
