EBay item number 130108395541
Its a 15" Elo that is already de-cased.
$150+$25 shipping but the seller does have a best offer option that I used. I offered $125 and it was accepted.
This would be a great monitor for a juke.

Thanks for the heads up, SR. I put in an offer for $125 myself. Hopefully it gets accepted and I'm that much closer to building something this summer!

It took the seller about 12 hours to accept mine, so good luck!!
I already have a 17" ELO in an upright Juke I built. I'm going to use this 15" for a bartop

Yes, thanks for this. I just put in my offer for $125 ($110 was immediately declined, must be automated). Seems like a great/easy starter screen for jukeboxes.

Did anyone receive one of these? I had one already that was in the case and I decased it. How is the touch screen glass mounted to the LCD?

Mine was mounted to the front case.

Not sure what you're asking here, but I did get one and there is no case. So, obviously, the touch screen is not mounted to the case.

I bought one in a case awhile ago. I decased mine, but can't figure out how to attach the glass to the lcd.

My glass was mounted to the front half of the case.

Is your glass glued or something? I was thinking of trying a silicon caulk.

On the millionaire cab i converted the 21" monitor had died. I just replaced it with a normal PC 21" monitor and taped the glass touchscreen overlay to is with duct tape. That is how it was held on originally (Well with some sort of tape). You don't see it as the edge is behind the bezel anyway. I know it sounds like a cheap ass solution but it does work.

That's good enough. I'm really struggling with deciding whether to mount it on an LCD mount so it can pivot up and down (so my kids can see, and adults can see), or mounting it in the wall.

I guess if I go with the LCD mount, I can always cut it out if I change my mind.

has anyone got and tried these out yet, im thinking of getting one to make a wall mount juke terminal but read the ebay auction they do not provide the software/drivers, that is is up to the buyer to find it. has this been an issue for anyone who has got one or is it just plug and play..go.

Elo drivers are all available on the Elo site. Very easy to get an elo touchscreen setup. I did not get one from this supplier but it is the brand that I look for.

I recently purchased one from this dealer last Thursday. It was delivered to my house yesterday. Packaged very well. I downloaded the drivers from the ELO web site and installed them on my lap top. I then plugged a USB cable, a monitor cable to my lap top and a power cable to the touchscreen. Everything worked well. Touch screen calibrated and worked for the short time I tried it out.

The screen has definetly been used. The glass was a little dirty but I think Windex can clean it all up. No scratches from what I could see. The monitor is just a tad bit blurry. I'm sure these things were used in kiosks and running 24/7. Overall I am pretty happy with the purchase.

The one trick that I am going to have when building the jukebox is rigging up some way to turn the monitor on and off. Since the monitor is completely decased the buttons to turn it on and off are basically tiny little push buttons on a circuit board. Otherwise I think this thing is going to work well for a juke box.

If you want I can try and take pictures of my unit. Let me know.

As stated in the earlier posts.....I offered $125 and they accepted.

I was looking at Knievel's juke box and his page stated that he used Touch Tone software. I plan to try that out first. I don't think it is free though. I want something that works.

I got one of these a little while ago and my jukebox is coming along nicely.

Does anyone have ideas on what to use for a bezel? My fallback position is to just trim it out with some painted wood molding, but I'd like to hear ideas if anyone has got one. I couldn't find a plastic or metallic bezel that I thought would work with this.

My landlord's company does custom metal cuts, so my plan is to measure out an aluminum or stainless steel border/box and put it in there. This is proving to be a lot harder than anticipated though.

Also, for anyone that buys one of those from that specific vendor, remember you need to buy a m/m vga cord and a power cord.

I haven't even had a chance to plug mine in to see if it works yet.

Yea, I pulled mine out and was looking at it to see how I am going to frame this out. It's going to be harder then I though too. Especially since there are those sensor wires glued to the top of the glass. THe glass is not flat all the way around so you can't lay out trim directly on the glass....

I going to have to think about this one for a while.....

Also, just leave the touchscreen on, or do what Biscuit and I do, use a Smartstrip.

For people that have hooked theres up, what did you use the black and read wires coming off the monitor for?

Seems like it is the power for the touchscreen controller, but how much juice did you send it?

I was wondering the same thing. They are not detailed in the PDF user's manual I found on the web. Sewer Rat said he thought they might be for some sort of auxillary lighting or additional back lighting or something. The screen works fine without it connected to anything, so I just left it hanging loose for the moment.

What if you lined the front edges of the monitor with some black foam (something like black foam used to cover big house speakers) and then put the wood framing on top of this foam so the wires will be protected. It might also help with the unevenness of the monitor during mounting (ie: the foam would get squished where it needs to be squished only. Basically, the black foam would be sandwiched between the wooden frame and the front of the monitor.

Anyway, just a thought.

The ebay seller is by far cheaper than CDW. For the same price you paid for one, you could have picked up 2 15" lcd touchscreens. I suppose you could say got a 17", but still don't think it is worth the extra money.

I just got my offer of 125 taken looks like I will make a picture frame for it. It's main use will be for a digital photo frame/jukebox/video server. I the computer will be in the next room so all you will see is a picture frame.

And the best part is that when you look at the duty on ELO screen on http://www.myborderpro.com/2006/ they say there's no duty.

Because of all those horror stories with DHL/UPS/FEDEX extra import fee, when I need to ship to Canada and USPS is not available, I ship to my business address in NY and then, the company bills me the actual duty with an extra 2$. (but I save the Qc GST

)

If I can't find an old console radio pretty soon, I think I'm going to mount my touchscreen on the wall. Here are some things I was considering:

I was considering manufacturing a 'wall box' that would mount to the wall above an existing electrical socket. You can open the wall up and mount a new recessed electrical receptacle (sometimes called a clock outlet) above the existing socket, running the romex off of the existing socket. This is the way some people mount their plasma TVs.

Run the USB/VGA/AV cables through the wall from the location of the screen to where you are keeping the PC (from what I gather, you cannot run electrical cords through walls, hence the clock receptacle). In the room where you keep the PC, you can mount a new USB/VGA/AV receptacle and then just plug it in.

For speakers, I was contemplating mounting them in the corners of the room using speaker brackets and hiding them with those speaker wire corner moldings. Probably hide the woofer somewhere discreet.

Like I said, I haven't decided to mount mine, so that's why I don't have all the details spec'd out, but those were my initial thoughts.

I have a few of these that I am going to be selling if anyone is interested (not to take away from the guy on ebay, but in case you wanted to deal with someone who is BYOAC "trusted")

I have made a "jig" for mounting these in wood for wall/bar juke projects, and may be looking into getting some made to be sold with the monitors.

A am also working with someone who is making a black plexi "bezel" for these open frame monitors, and will let you all know when I see one of them.
