Silly wiring question

Pages: (1/3) > >>

Justin:

Last time I wired my buttons, i ended up with sore hands and neck.

OK, OK, I'm exaggerating, but seriously:  Is there an easier way to wire all the 'grounds'? I'm sure there has to be a better way than making a cable from ground to ground.  The jey here, is that it needs to be insulated  from A to B, so simply running a bare wire won't do the trick.

Someone please tell me there is a better way!

Why does it have to be insulated? One or two of my arcade games have a bare wire as the ground that goes from switch to switch and it works just fine.

If it is a bare wire, you risk it touching non-ground terminals.  no?

paigeoliver:

Well, whenever I saw it that way it was always stiff wire that they did it with. It certainly didn't have any room to move around or anything.

TacoSmuggler:

I also purchased a game at an auction that had unshielded wire for the ground.

It is a very shoddy way to do it though!

You are correct in the fact that is is very easy to cause a ground fault with this setup. The easiest way to wire a Cp is still daisy chaining the ground.( or buy a prewired Jamma CP)
