Xbox 360 Controller Hack Tutorial -- Wireless Hack Now Available!!!
Howard_Casto:
I don't mean to hijack this thread but has anyone attempted to use non-standard controllers for hacks?
The reason I ask is I just picked up a renegade edition dj hero kit at big-lots for only 30 bucks. I could have got the standard edition for only 20. Since these devices often have pcbs that are seperate from the buttons and pretty much all music controllers have fallen out of favor they might make for a good base. I don't know about the inclusion of all the buttons though... I think guitar controllers have one missing, for example.

Really, the only non-standard controller that I know for sure works is the ugly madcatz arcade stick:
Of course, other non standard controllers may work, too.
Typically, my controller of choice these days is the MadCatz fightpad, it's common ground, it's cheap, and both triggers are already digital. Not to mention it has a switch that makes the D-pad act like either the left or right analog stick, if needed.

I read about people using guitar controllers on Shoryuken. Has anyone actually done this? From what I read some people thought that the guitar controllers did have all the inputs, but that one of the inputs just wasn't being used

HarumaN,
I'm in the process of using two MadCats fight pads, would you happen to have a pic on where the solder points are for the triggers? The rest of the points were really easy.
