These bits, with a 135-degree split-point tip, are really designed for drilling in hard metals (like stainless steel) more so than wood. That isn't to say that they won't work in wood, just that they're a bit more than you really need.

I have the first set of drill bits and can recommend them. They're handy to have around and the case, IMO, is pretty nice. Actually, I just noticed one of the reviews on Amazon is from me. However, if you don't need them now and you're patient, you can get them cheaper. I checked my order history and picked them up for $26 last spring.
