MODERATORS: I am opening this thread up in an effort to defuse the ire of some in the community at me and to express my motivations for my recent post in the 1000-to-1 thread that has been recently moved to POST HELL...attacks on me are INVITED in this thread and I shall not respond in like...so please don't remove the thread because of them...i'll live.
MOTIVATION: My initial click in to the 1000-to-1 thread was to see if the device was on the up and up. If it were, I was going to investigate purchasing one to put on location. After reading through the thread and getting to AaronGiles post, it appeared the device wasn't quite Kosher. But I didn't know for sure, so I asked.
After being skewered by a certain member here, it was becoming more and more obvious that the manufacturers of this device were profiting off the hard work of others and that promoting such a device on this forum wasn't Kosher (according to the forum rules)... I SHOULD have just reported the damn thread and been done with it, but I let my emotions / stubbornness get in the way (6 days no smoking!) and a little ---smurfette----fest ensued between myself and Cheffo.
The bottom line is that I am not a moderator and I should not be "acting" like one. The proper thing to have done was to have reported the damn post and leave it at that. My opinions on the matter really don't mean ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- as I am just a single member of the community and in no way have any sort of "authority" here.
I'd like to first apologize to Ken Layton. While I never intended to "call you out", being that multiple people have told me it appeared that way, I evidently have some work to do in the diplomacy department. When I questioned the legality of the device "on location", I did so at the time ONLY because I was interested in doing the same....it didn't come off that way it appears. I am sorry. I value your opinions, your skills, and your help and in no way meant to demean, attack, or in any way accuse you of anything.
Secondly, I would like to apologize to CheffoJeffo. The resulting bantering back and forth between us was stupid...and it takes two to tango. Again, I should have just shut my ---smurfing--- trap. Many points you made were spot on, but in my blind anger/irritation/nicotine fit, I couldn't see the light. I am sorry.
Finally, I would like to apologize to anyone who witnessed the trainwreck that was page 4 of that post. I was wrong on many accounts. If anything, I try not to make the same mistake twice. I don't intend to do so this time for sure.
So...now is open season. Tear me a new ass. I deserve it and will not be responding in the like. I was wrong and will take my medicine like a man...
