Turbo twist spinner - 2 buttons assigned to it
3 admin buttons Pause/Escape/Enter
P1 & P2 Mag stick plus (top switchable from 4 to 8 way)
P3 & P4 competition joys (8 way)
Flight stick is an 8 way 3 button 1980's NOS connected to P1 controls.
Under the hood is an
Ipac4
Optiwiz x2
Ledwiz
All the buttons light up - programmed to light up the buttons that each game uses.
I originally wasnt going to put start/credit buttons on the top. I changed my mind and drilled the holes in the plexi after I had the underlay printed. It was only AFTER i put the plexi over the overlay that i realized I had placed buttons over the mame logo - too late to change.
and please ignore the duct tape..... this will be replaced with an aluminium strip (just there to stop glass sliding out on little fingers)

hi folks,
looking for a diagram to hack a keyboard to be able to control 24 buttons on my cocktail cabinet. one dude did it earlier so i know it can be done now i am just looking for guidance.

I really recommend getting a KeyWiz from GroovyGameGear they're around 30 bucks and saves hours of headaches. We use them for our production kiosks and haven't had a failure yet...

I too highly suggest a kizwiz.
I hacked a keyboard on my first project, but decided not to use it after I found out about ghosting.
Also wiring it to a two player CP would have been murder. it takes twice the wires you would use on a keywiz.

It cannot be done without ghosting if you are talking about action buttons. If you just want 18 inputs and some admin buttons (two joys, and 6 buttons per), it can be done but it's really not worth the effort.
