Mala gamelist question...

Thank you both.

1) I knew how to establish the rom directory in Mala, but didn't understand what the "only working games' and other checkboxes were for. Thanks for the heads up.

2) I opened the ini file, deleted the "d3d" line, and when I ran mame it "reverted to gdi" and actually attempted to run the rom. (only problem now is that none of my roms apparently work. (Guess I'll just have to use the ones from my xbox instead...)
