DUAL MONITOR SUPPORT implimented!!!!

(1/5) > >>

VMJ Team:
Decided to go with VMJ version 4 beta...I hopefully will have alot of the "major" features implimented over the weekend...but for now, I've got the dual monitor support in place....there's an option in the settings screen to turn "dual-monitor support" mode on....when two monitors are installed and supported using a dual-monitor video card...all video and lyrics will be displayed full-screen in the secondary monitor while the primary display will retain focus to select and browse through albums in VMJ.

Go ahead and play with it and give me your feedback.

Generic Eric:
I downloaded your file from the link in your post.  I ran it and got the following error.

Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSFXGRD.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

I don't have a dual head card.  I do have a card with TVout that I think I can set up as dual display though.  Your program no workie. For me.  I use xp pro with service pack 1 installed.

Ted_Striker:
Dual Monitor support doesnt seem to work on my card.  I am running gforce 4 4200ti.  It is a duel head card.  VJ shows the dual head option greyed out when I go to select it.  If I go in to vj config file and manually make it true it still doesn't seem to work.  It seems that nvidia uses software called nview to control duel head cards and how they work in windows.  There are tons of options.  So this may be whats up.

Also on beta 4 none of my songs play.  I have autoaccept on and no dice.  VJ 3 works a-ok.

I also notice when using 2 monitors on VJ 3 that the albumn artwork deforms.  Albumns become more wide than tall.  Also with both 4 and 3 the area that usually displays track lists falls right in the middle of the two monitors.  This makes reading this area extremely difficult.

I will be happy to do any testing you need on nvidia based dual head cards.  I'm sure it is just a driver issue.  Anything I can do to make VJ better let me know... I'm also in NE Ohio if you want to grab a Beer :)

I figured that there would be different issues with different cards...Generic Eric, you need to download and run the setup program to get all of the necessary files.

Since I don't see myself going out and buying each and every dual monitor card...I'll have to rely heavily on your feedback to get it working on your specific card.

I have a radeon 7500 that seems to work OK (well, I programed the features around my card)...anyone else have a 7500 or 9000 series card to test on?

VMJ Team:
Forgot to ask...does everyone have TWO monitors INSTALLED in the display settings of windows...or are they just running two monitors at the same time showing the same screen display...if two monitors are being uses and only showing the same display on both....VMJ will not support this.  Two monitors must be installed in the Windows display settings...so each monitor can support its own display.  Please let me know, this will help to debug.
