Question about staining?
Maverick:
Well that covers most of the painting issue, but if you are staining there is no need to stain everything.
Put it togather, then stain it. If you glue your joints (and you should) theres no need for anything else
in those joints. P.S Wipe all excess glue with a damp cloth.

I personally would stain each piece of wood seperately though. It helps prevent an uneven looking stain job.

I totally agree and wish I did this prior to my glue-up. My cabinet stain came out nice but there are a few places in the corners where it's not as even as I'd like it (because I'm anal). The one piece that I stained on its own came out flawless. I'm definitely staining or painting prior to assembly of the next one.
