Question about staining?

(1/2) > >>

rdowdy95:
Guys I was wondering if you stained/painted the bottom part of the control panel.  AKA the control panel base.  Is it good to stain every single piece?  Like base boards and all that stuff.  Or should I put it together then stain the cabniet.  I am doing the Lucid's Flashback plans.

Vigo:
I'm just going by the ganeral rules of woodworking here, but if you plan on staining, put it together first, then take it back apart and stain it. That way you know that the cabinet fits together before you bother staining.

NightGod:
I personally put a coat on all sides of my control panel, just to prevent any possible warping issues later on (then again, I'm using plywood for my CP-if you are using MDF, this isn't a concern).

:)HI I have been a painter for 25 years I know I'm old I would finish all sides of your cabinet at least prime I know many of the old cabinet did not have the interiors finished but they where cutting corners.

Good luck

I agree, I like to see all bare wood covered.  I primed and top coated the entire inside of my cabinet.
