That looks like what i was just asking about:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=53789.0

This is the connector that you connect your trackball molex to and then it plugs in the the 10pin connector on the Opti-Wiz.

Does that make sence???

Yeah, i think thats only used Opti-Wiz and not so much the Key.

Did you order it? or did they just send it?

I believe that cord is only for the opti-wiz and not the key wiz.

I was confused above because your topic heading says OptiWiz, but you have the Key.

The Keywiz is for joysticks and buttons and the optiwiz is for a trackball.  Hold on to that cable though because you will need it.

I will,  I now understand that the optiwiz and optiwiz trackball cable go hand in hand.  thanks

By the way... the optiwiz works great!  It was real easy to set up and my PC recognized it right away.  The only criticism I have is that it doesn't come with spacers to mount it.  It wasn't that big of a deal though.  I just cut up a hollowed out pen and used that.

Also, if you plan on using mouse buttons you need to solder wire or hack an IDE cable to connect them to the pins.  I just cut up an old floppy cable and it worked fine.

do you have the ps/2 or usb?  also do you have any pics of how you connected the buttons b/c I plan on doing that.  a step by step would be great, thank you.

I have the USB.  I can work on getting some pics for you but I don't have much time for the next couple of days, so it might not be until the end of the week.  You may be able to do a search on this board and find someone who has already done a step-by-step.

I just did a quick search and found this that might help:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=23966.0

If you look at the picture, it just a standard IDE cable that you can pull out of an old PC if you have one laying around.  You plug the one end onto the pins on the optiwiz and put some quick disconnects on the other to attach to the microswitch on the buttons.

Hope this helps for now.  I can try to provide some more detail and pics later.  I'm new to all of this, so someone else might have an easier solution, but this worked for me.  :)

Ok...the pics aren't real good because I don't have a macro setting on my camera but hopefully it will give you enough of an idea that you can figure it out.

Anyway, find an old IDE cable from a computer and cut it long enough to run from your optiwiz to your buttons.

Now seperate one wire for every button you want to have.  I only have one mouse button so I only pulled apart one wire.  Here's the tricky part and you may be able to find some kind of diagram on the internet to help you, but you have to know which wire goes with which hole.  I only used one wire, so it wasn't hard.  I just tried a few differnt holes and got it on the second try.

Strip the wires you need and attach a quick disconnect the way you did with the rest of your CP.  Because the wire is so thin, I striped away more than usual and doubled up the exposed wire to ensure it would be thick enough to stay in after being crimped.  Attach the quick disconnect to each button.

Plug the other end of the cable onto the pins in the optiwiz.  That's it.

Let me know if you have any questions.  :)
