Looks like you're further along that most, including me, when they start posting projects. A pile of cut wood is a real good start.

Love the name.

Good luck.

Did about an hour of work yesterday and just got the base built.

I just finished building a LuSiD cabinet that very closely follows saint's book.  I did things slightly differently at a few points.  You might want to browse my pictures to give you an idea of how to approach certain milestones.

For example, here is how I bolted my casters to the base.  I made a conscious decision to sink the bolt heads in order to maximize the usable space on the floor of my cabinet.  You did good work putting your base together, but you may find it difficult to work around all of those bolts sticking up out of the floor.

Certainly your method is much stronger, but I've been wheeling my cabinet all over the place with no problems yet.  :)

Cheers!

YEah...  I've watched your progress closely.   :)

If I put the bolts the other way they interfere with the spinning castors that I have in the front.

The real solution would be to get a new set of bolts.

I'll probably end up doing that on Thursday.

More importantly, did you ride that thing down the road or driveway yet?

2 things.

If you've got a grinder or a jigsaw, cut some of the length off those bolts.  Unscrewing the nuts will clean the threads for you after cutting, but DON'T UNSCREW THEM ALL THE WAY THE FIRST TIME!

Then, just do what Bones did and throw some 2x stock in there and float a fake bottom on top of 'em.

Problem solved.

You need to have a proximity sensor on that thing that spews the happy fun box phrases in attract mode.

COINUP:  do not taunt happy fun box

I've done some more work!

After four days of working on it it now looks like this from behind...

and this from the front/side...

The control panel is just sitting on the cabinet.

I did some more work...  Did some filling and sanding this weekend.

Saturday was gorgeous around here and I thought I'd get to prime the thing on Sunday, but it was pouring down rain on Sunday.

No pics, though.  Left my camera at home when I was working on it.

I made a keyboard drawer.

Here's what it looks like pre-priming...

Looks like you're building this cab like you do them everyday! Have you had any struggles, problems, injuries over the last 18 days of building? Just to make others fell better!
Fine work though that cabs gonna look so cool when it's done  ;)

Umm... When I built the drawer it was a bit too wide, so I had to run the router down on side and shave off about 1/8" 'cuz I had to bow the sides out to get the rollers in the tracks.  That wasn't good.

Ummm...  The primer was too thick to get sucked up by the paint sprayer, which turned out to be broken.  So I had to prime it by hand.

I miscut the sides of the control panel box, so I had to take it apart and redo it.  Not so easy when it's all glued together nice.

Today I'll hopefully go over and sand the thing.  I'm not sure, though.  A party is being thrown in my honor tonight.  All hail me.  :D
