FS: N64 Adaptoids (4)
« on: September 21, 2005, 10:04:10 am »
Hello, I have 4 new in box Adaptoids that I'm selling.  I've been watching ebay auctions and they're going for between $45-$75+.  I'm looking to sell at $55 each, free shipping to the US.  Outisde the us will have to pay actual shipping cost.  Again, these are new, never opened.

Sorry, the Adaptoid is a N64 controller to PC (via USB) interface.  It's generally regarded as the best one because it supports all the features of the original controller (all control buttons, analog stick, rumble pack, and memory cartridge) without the use of any special drivers or calibration.  It's truly plug and play.  You can save games on your pc and run the N64 emulators and get to use the original controller.  I use it for MAME as well.  The cheaper N64 to USB adapters don't support force feedback and need a calibration routine to be run to use the analog stick.  I'm not sure if the cheaper versions support the game saves to the hard drive.  The adaptoid is also very compact - just a small dongle at the end of the cable, not a bulky box.

I cant believe that there isnt another company selling this product.

Clearly if they are selling for that high of a price. They should start manufacturing these things!

The only reason they go for so much now is that they're rare.  If they were making them, they would sell for less.  There have been several manufacturing runs, and they always stop producing them again.  They must not be cost-effective for some reason.  Too bad, as I hear they are/were the very best N64 interface you could get.

For those who are too cheap to pay for rarity, they come up on ztnet once every so often. I set them as my homepage for about a month and sure enough they came up recently. I got two for about $30 USD each i think.
