New metal CPs?
« on: May 29, 2005, 11:22:08 am »
Does anyone know if there's a source for having a new metal CP made? The guy who was going to make me a new, blank System 1 CP just got laid off and doesn't have any access to the shop anymore  :'(

I could get a local machine shop to bend up a new CP for me but their prices on one-off items are lunacy (I could have bought a whole working Indiana Jones on ebay for what one place quoted)

Is there a doctor sheet metal worker in the house?

I was looking as well but decided to buy the Harbor Freight 30" bender, did my own and it was very easy.  I bought 16g sheet metal at lowes, cut it with a sabre saw, bent with the bender, and drilled out using a combination of bits, hole saws and metal punches.  If you decide to go this route let me know and I'll help you through it.
