Pretty cool.  Didnt even consider how easy it would be.  Thats the way to go to make it universal.  One coin, one credit.  Kinda like a really drunk guy at a bar.  He doesnt care who he sleeps with as long as they are willing.  ;)

It's missing the most important part!

The *thunk* at the end of inserting a coin is just the icing on the triple fudge layer cake that is the sound of a quarter making it's way through the mech.

If I didn't love that sound so much I would have skipped the coin door altogether.

Put a breadpan or similar metal dish to catch the coins and you have that nice *thunk* noise.

I did something similar when I first got my MAME cab going, except I used sheet aluminum. Like Samstag said, it was mising that great sound of the coin making it's way through the mech. Had to switch to mechs to get that nice sound.

I was assuming they'd have something similar to catch the coins and would only have the *thunk*.

That's why I'm comparing it to eating nothing but icing.

i picked up a low torque microswitch but they require more force than a regular coin to make the switch close.

forget this idea.
