FREAKIN' Dog won't stop barking!!
Stingray:
Of course on the other side of that coin, when you live out in the boonies, you tend to adopt a lot of strays. Well at least you do if you're soft hearted like I am. So now my own dogs keep me awake at night sometimes. ;)

I had my own little incident this morning....
Decided I'd stay up the entire night (I usually go to bed around 4 or 5 am) so I could pay the rent to the apt manager when she got to her office first thing. Around 7:30 am, my upstairs neighbor's high school kid decides to play something with heavy bass in it (I"m thinking rap, since it had that type of beat) for about 10 minutes. LOUDLY.
This wasn't the first time I'd heard anything out of them either..... there's always the usual tromping around like elephants trying out for "The Nutcracker" or the sliding of the glass balcony door every 10 minutes or so during the evening hours.....
I've confronted the manager when I went to pay the rent this morning and she said she'd leave them a "nice little note" to quiet the music down.... I'm already in the mindset to move once my lease is up in Nov. Just gonna bide my time til that point....
I'll be SOOOOO happy when I own my own place again **** sigh****

Well and ceptic takes a little getting used too though if you're used to the city...With the well, you need a water softener, and the ceptic can only take biodegradable stuff...That means no cleaning paint brushes....
Stingray:
We do have a septic tank (which, knock on wood, has never given us any problems), but luckily we have rural water, so a well wasn't needed.

Man, this makes me thankful to not be living in an apartment anymore.
Had plenty of inconsiderate neigbors. The worst was the upstairs neighbor that would fire up his home theater at 5:30 in the morning so he could listen to Stern and open his sliding closet doors at least 30 times before heading off to work. Followed closely by the kids who love to play Nerf basketball at all hours of the day and night!
We bought our first home last year (which is located and the base of a hill) and we love it. The only problem seems to be that in the summer when the windows are open, all the teenagers seem to be driving these Hondas with Coffee can tail pipes on them so we get the brunt of their 'fast and the furious' wanna-be cars revving to get up the hill.
I mean I hate having to pay Homeowners association dues, but it is stuff like that where the enforcement Committee comes in handy.
