Question about buttons and control panels
« on: April 24, 2005, 12:51:29 pm »
I'm starting to build my own arcade cabinet.  I'm going to pick up a stripped arcade cabinet monday...so i need to start ordering stuff for my control panel

#1 -- I want translucent buttons so they light up when the lights are off.  Where's the best place to get them...is leaf switch buttons better?  Do they just make translucent buttons and then you must install a light under the control panel, or do the actually make translucent buttons with little LED lights in them?

#2 -- I mainly want to play 80's arcade games and fighting games from the 90's.  I'm figuring an 8-way joystick is all i'll need, but i'm a big pacman fan, and i heard that a 4 way is best for pacman.  Is a 4/8 switchable joy the way to go?  Is it easy to switch it over?  Where do i get that?

#3 -- What do i need to hook all these together to a computer...do i need an IPAC?

Thanks
