rejuventor help needed i think...
menace:
Ok adapter made according to B&K specs...
I tried it this afternoon and my only concern is that I get no readings whatsoever when i try and read emissions from the blu and red cathodes--Green reads as good. I tried it on a known working tube and the readings were identical leading me to believe its my adapter and not the tube or rejuvenator. I have calibrated the rejuvenator also according to b&K specs.
Anyone have a cr-23 adpater that they can have a look at for me or send me a good picture of? It just seems like with the configuration as provided by B&K there is no way to read the red and blue cathodes?? is the 466 not modern enough to work with this tube maybe?
menace:
ok had a brainstorm--for whatever reason there is no continuity on the K red and the K blue but it works just fine for the K grn--presumably because G1 or G2 green "completes the circuit" So what if a 3-position switch was added off pin 8 from the 466 (K grn) and switched the output to each of the 3 color cathodes on the cr-23 socket. From the rejuvenators point of view it would always be reading the green cathode but the switch would direct it to each of the three (see pic for more clarity) Will this work? will I blow up myself?
menace:
This works as configured above with the exception that I get no readings on H-K leakage or G1 leakage. This could be that there either wasn't any or something is still not configured properly. On my two test tubes I had a very weak red gun (on the supposed working one) and it rejuvenated to good no problem. On the other one I had 3 good guns which is good news since i paid 25$ for a 27" monitor.
So point in fact a B&K466 will rejuvenate an arcade monitor with a cr-23 connector but further study needs to be done to determine if its capable of detecting h-k leakage and g1 leakage. Oddly enough in all my searching I never read definitive statements about that--I guess once people got it working they felt no need to report back...
Ken Layton:
I've never seen the 466 myself. Does it have only one meter or does it have 3 meters?
menace:
it has the one meter and the color switches to go between the different guns--If it was a little more up to date it would be a perfect analyzer--the tests are sequential (as I think all the analyzer's are) and the readings are easy to read and the instructions are easy to follow. I think i will sell it back on ebay for 25$ now that I'm done with it though. I've only rejuved one tube and its paid for itself already :D
