How many would you need to pre-sell before you seriously consider doing it? Bringing them to CA extreme that is?

If he brought a uhaul full to CAextreme, I would be interested in at least two Egret2's or Windy's or maybe Blast City's.

I too would pick at least one up. If not a possibility maybe some of us can go in on a  large truck...

Not too hard, I painted the white ones so they were more presentable.  Hard part are the crevices where the screws are.  Do you take screws and bolts out or paint over them??  Otherwise all you have to do is take the cp off and cover the monitor and tape off the glass and sideart.

Gozur,
Your a lot closer and can save cost if I can send them to you and have Dek and Dave_K pick them up from you. This way I don't have to be there and use my moving company to deliver to you.  Since I have delt with you before I feel I can trust you with the cabs.  If dek and Dave K is fine with paying me and using you as a storage location it would help out a lot. What I am willing to do is give you something extra for the effort and storage fees.  I will need to find out from Dek when he will be able to take 10 cabs.  If he takes 10 and you and dave K takes 2 each 14 cabs will be enough for me to send them to you.  I will check with my shipper to see if the costs increases less than $100 maybe only $75 per cab. Then I think we can do this.  It looks like your about 6 hrs away from me.  Plus time to unload the cabs might cost about $75.00 per unit.  But I have to make sure.

Let me know your thoughts Chris.

Thanks

Dek,
I know it is bad timing.  What are your thoughts about have the cab sent to Gozur. Is it a storage issue or a money issue  with doing it before Cal extreme?  Left Gozur message as well. I think we can work this deal out.

My move has been postponed by at least 60days.  But my game room still has plenty of room to be a temp home for a dozen or more cabs and easily accessible (converted garage) as the two car door is still functional.

Goz,
I got a quote from North American Vanlines for $85 per unit at 15 units ordered.  Please let dek and dave k know if they are still interested. I will be inventoring the cabs and posting pics of each one and you can chose the one you want.

let me know.

Paul,

I've chatted briefly with the fella's and I really dont think it will work out for Dek and that squashes the quantity that was previously discussed. Will keep you updated, but it may just turn out that it might mean a road trip to your area to get some cabs. I did like that quote of $75 each cab as I would only be snagging one or two of them  ;D

hi paul,

this is purely for my own curiosity/ research, so it's okay if you can't help.

do you have any readily available digital pictures of the konami windy cab? i've always loved the look of them and might even consider getting one in the future, but as you know i'm in the UK so i doubt i'd be able to purchase from you again on this occasion.

cheers.

thanks for the offer.

pictures of the exterior i can find on the web.
what i'm interested in particular, are pictures that show:

1/ how much undertaking required to rotate the screen.
2/ how much room for the game pcb to sit inside the cab.
3/ the wiring underneath the control panel.

and whatever you can spare the time to take, really.
whether you want to post them here, pm me with them or post them on your website it'd be much appreciated.

you offer much to these boards. thanks again paul.

chun,
sorry it took me so long to get back to you. here is the link for the pics for the windy.  I took some of them with the monitor vertical and horizontal.  To rotate the monitor you need to lift it and turn it and put it back into the brackets. it does have handles on the sides. but still a 29" monitor is not light. I can do it myself but I am 6'4" 275 so not too difficult. for an average person i recommend two people, because the wiring in the back can get tricky. you can only rotate counterclockwise. the pictures of the cp is a customized 2 player 7 button.

 Hope this helps.

thanks paul, have been looking forward to these and they give a great insight to the cab's character. (i have been coming back to these pages everyday since posting my request...)

so the monitor rests on some sort of bracket/ locking position...? you have to lift it out of the locking position, rotate it around some sort of pivot before lowering it back down into a bracket? when you rotate the screen, does it not clip into the levers on the side that are holding up the front monitor panel?

the space under the control panel and inside the gameboard area seem very spacious, but maybe the blackbox can get in the way slightly when changing pcbs.

funny how the monitor panel is held open by a lever to the side and there is a flurescent light tube at the top.

There is no pivot for the Windy.  In fact there is no monitor frame!  The tube is directly bolted to the plastic mounting points of the cab, with 2 metal konami handles attached.  The Windy is the worst/hardest to rotate and most prone to having the neck crack.  You can click on my two projects below for more info on rotating an exceleena, astro, and windy.

Geo

geo,
$277.41 to your door. That is why I want people to buy 2 units at a time. Because price is same for 1 or 2 units. as long as they both weigh less than 500 lbs.
let me know.

I'm going to be getting one of these from you....either a astro city or windy. Im trying to get the money as soon as possible....Then I will come to LA to pick it up. I just gonna sell my console collection first. I'll keep you updated, hope you have it when the time comes!

fyi- i have 7 of the windys left. i have an operator who is interested in buying all the machines. i was thinking of putting one on location to hold for you but I need your conmittment that you will get it either way let me know.

Yes, I really want one of these. Im trying to get the money asap. The only other option I can offer is if you want some console games and cash. I think it will take me a couple of weeks or so to get the money. (I have $200 right now, need $300 more + $60 to rent truck, and gas money. Trust me, i'll make it happen. I just gotta hope someone buys my console stuff soon!

done,  i will hold the unit for you. just that i have had other "buyers" actually come by and say they will be coming back during weekend to pickup and no show. i end up wasting a sat.  I can't make plans because they are suppose to come by then so i wait and wait and nothing....  damn those phantom buyers!!!
