Help with google listing

JoyMonkey:

From looking at your site's stats, you've only got 1 hit from a Google search and has been 'crawled' once a day by the Googlebot. I'm really surprised your hits are so low. Maybe you should try mentioning brand names or movie references in your product descriptions.

Thanks for the advice.  i have been meaning to add some good search words like brand names and movies i can get replicas from.  Just haven't had time to, as my 10 year old and myself both have been sick on and off the last month.

According to my webhosts stats the googlebot has not been there since march 4th.  And the 1 hit, was probably me searching for the domain, as that was the only way I could get it to list.  Apparently, they have seen my site, and don't like it very much.

Still looking for any suggestions anyone has for decent forums that allow links.

Steve

Magnet_Eye:

might i suggest you PUT A TITLE ON YOUR PAGES!

you have "Untitled Document" This is NOT helping you at all.

Put something like:

"Steve's Blades - Huge selection of swords, knives, klingon batleths, maces, thowing knives, throwing axes, hunting knives, fantasy knives, fantasy swords, folding knives, collectors knives."

Choose the most relevant keywords for your title, and don't make it too big, as that could get you ignored by search engines for trying to "cheat"

I have also hear that naming your .html files properly can improve rankings. like instead of index.html all the time like you have, have samurai_swords.html, or knives.html, and stuff like that.

good luck!

(Might be a dumb question, but eh!)
Did you submit your site to Google for crawling? It should be crawling your site more than it currently is.

It takes awhile for the GoogleBot to come around...but yeah, definately submit it regardless.  That will at least get your page re-indexed.

Looks like Google finally got around to re-indexing my site yesterday.  So thats a plus...now I can finally start climbing up the rankings there.  I've jumped a lot on the other search engines, but since Google had an old index of my site, its been giving me horrible rankings.
