Printing Marquees at home
« on: September 06, 2002, 10:29:39 am »
Hello:

Stupid question... I wanted to dry run of my marquee on a color laser printer on regular paper to see how I like it.

Is there a trick to get Photoshop to span the image across multiple pages?

I usually just get a "outside paper range, some clipping will occur" message and it prints the middle part of the image...

Is there a manual page break function in PS ?

A helper app perhaps? I can export to numerous formats.  Same thing happened when I PDF'ed it...

Thanks for any pointers (of course it'll be easier to print at a large format printer... but that doesn't help me now for my test run - so no "go to kinkos" suggestion please)

I checked with my version of Photoshop (6) and found that if I went into my print command I could pick the printer setup and select multiple page formats eg poster 4  6 or 9 pages.   I could also select a page size that was user defined where I could set it at 8.5 wide and 33 inches long to span some banner paper.   Not sure which setup would fit your marquee.  Changing between portrait and landscape when using these print choices also gives more flexability to the final print.

PS my printer is a C40UX Epson.   About as cheap as they get but gives fairly good quality output.

If that doesn't work, there are banner printing programs out there.  Search www.downloads.com for a free one, or try something like Print Shop.
