I picked one of these up off ebay recently.
If you find a source for control panel blanks, please post it.

Later,

I'm in Denver Colorado. I found a website for arcade inifinity inc but their website is forums only and I'm not really sold on the quality of their used cabinets to want to look any further into it.

I got my cab from arcade infinity and it got to me in one piece and was in great shape considering it was used but they can be difficult to get reliable info from. I know the odds are small but you know what would be best? Get 11 people and yourself together to buy brand new sitdowns outta china for less than $300 a pop. If you get like 12 cabs you can get a shiping box discount and s&h is only like $100 ea. instead of $600-700, but what are the odds of getting peeps together for that huh?

Yea I'm the only person I know who is into this stuff as much as I am to buy a cabinet and mod it for mame use. Shipping and handling is killer which is why I am really looking towards something local. I may have to settle for a standard cab but I'm gonna keep looking for one of these for a while.

I have one MAME'd now and I would love to have another one.  So that's TWO people....can we roust up 10 more?

BTW, how do you know where to buy them from?  I could get the money to buy them if I had the source in Asia.  I mean that is less than $5K total right?  I bought mine at auction for $550 used.  Sell them new for $500 and make $100 profit......not bad for the "extra" ones.   8)

coin-op express:

freight costs for 1 unit only normally costs approx $600-1200usd per cabinet (including crating, local truck fees, export fees and sea freight).
if container orders, per unit freight cost becomes approx $150-250usd

Thanks for poinnting that out. I pmed him. I thought you had to buy like 90 arcade cabs (whole shipping container) to get the deal with low shipping but who knows. You'd think they would just be able to process the order and then send it with whatever the next shipment is to America with other people's orders.

Yep,
To get the "reasonable" price on shipping, you have to order enough stuff to fill at least a 20' container.
Not to mention meet the minimum purchase quantities on some of the items.

As I said in the other thread, pretty good interest so far. Getting close to filling a container guys!
