What are the best Daphne games?
DanteBK:
I'm thinking about getting Daphne for my cabinet, so besides the obvious --Dragon's Lair 1 and 2, Space Ace-- are there any other Daphne games worth buying at $5 a pop?
I'm penny pinching wherever I can, and I've never heard of any these weird games before . . . I mean Us vs Them? Esh's Aurunmilla? Could these possibly be good games?
Lilwolf:
why are you buying them?
From someone burning them?
There are other free ways if you have a fast connection (newsgroups are a good start... alt.binaries.emulation.misc I think has them every so often)
atog:
Did you play them as a kid? I did, so I had a pseudo emotional attachment/memory of them, and that is why I wanted them all. Once I got them actually installed, and started playing them, I quickly realized that the reality of them is not nearly as good as the memory.
Some of the games are downright horrible. The only ones that I might ever fire up and play again would be Astron Belt and Dragons Lair.

I don't know how much detail I'm allowed to go into based on the rules of this site, but suffice to say it's $5 each or $30 for all of them. I'm buying them because the computer I'm using for the cabinet does not and will not have an internet connection, and I don't have a DVD burner on my internet computer.
As for atog's question -- I didn't play any of the laserdisc games as a kid. I guess I'm caught up in the hype, as everyone and the grandmother seems to say Dragon's Lair 1 & 2 and Space Ace are the ultimate things to have. Far be it from me to not have the ultimate things.
I did love this SEGA CD game that was just like Dragon's Lair, only driving in car and having to dodge other cars and guns and boats and stuff. Road Blaster? Road Avenger? Something like that. I played that as a kid. I'm only 22.
Teknique:
buy DL 1 and Space Ace. Unless you really want to work at it, DL 2 for all intents and purposes will not work (the emu dosnt support it yet, but there were some people working on a work-around). Esh's Aurunmilla and Super Don-Quixote are the only other ones Id really recommend at all. They are all fun to play at least once, but not really worth playing for extended periods.
