Ok, I will set this to rest, again :) Coming from someone who owns double dragon I and II (in a double dragon II cabinet), it's the game! It did it on the NES once and awhile too.
HC's right though, the mame FAQ answers alot of questions, even on specific games that are famous for certain problems :)
