OK so i understand now, but it still is not working. Im running v .83 with the newest version of game launcher. when i try opening certain games the screen just turns black. I changed to debug mode, and found that GL was closing the games before they are opening. I am positive im using the newest rom and newest mame, what else could it be? I hope someone knows, cuz i dont! lol

try running the game in the command line so you can see the exact error MAME gives you.
MAME GAMENAME
or you can check the roms if its good by
MAME GAMENAME -verifyroms

well apparently it s a game launcher problem. Should have guessed, i'll try a new front end and see if that helps.
